Piiholo Ranch

Piiholo Ranch shares in the rich history of Maui and is one of the most beautiful and panoramic locations on all of Maui. This is the home of two of the most popular upcountry zipline courses on island and also the home of one of the most gorgeous horseback riding ranches in the state of Hawaii. History runs deep here as the founding father of Piiholo Ranch, Peter Baldwin, can trace his roots on Maui back seven generations to the arrival of the Reverend Dwight Baldwin in Lahaina, Maui in the early 1830's. Over time the Baldwin family became the owners of the 10,000 acre Haleakala Ranch and eventually the slice of the ranch that is now known as Piiholo Ranch was carved off and became the domain of Peter and his three sons, Jeff, Duke and Chris. Together the father and sons team put together a world class horseback riding operation to complement their working cattle ranch and later expanded a portion of the ranch to include perhaps two of the most beautiful, dramatic, and exciting zipline courses to grace the Maui landscape. The original zipline course includes five separate lines which x-cross the deep and forested Maliko Gulch. These double ziplines allow you to test your speed against your friends to see who can zip the fastest, and fast you will go. The speeds on the last of the five zips will have you traveling over gulches 400' deep in excess of 50 MPH and flying on a single line over a half a mile long. Their second course is very different in that it is a 'canopy' course, in which you travel from tree to tree throughout the Piiholo Ranch forests. In addition they have also constructed a challenge or 'ropes' course which will test your ability to climb up sheer walls, inverted walls, pole climbs and giant ladders.

We market and sell some tours as "Combination Tours" on Maui. Please keep in mind that as a general rule the differences between two tours bought as a "Combination Tour" instead of two individual tours that were purchased on an "A La Carte" basis normally has more to do with logistics than with pricing.
