Water Sports on Maui

Water Sports are the major visitor attraction on Maui.

There are 235 tours in this category with adult prices that range in price from $19.98 to $3306.90 Skip Directly to Tours.

Maui Water Sports

Maui Water Sports encompass a number of different water activities.

Maui water activities are a major allure to the island. Yes, other Hawaiian islands are surrounded by water just like Maui, but Maui water sports encompass a fuller range of unique experiences:

  • Maui often has the biggest waves in the world at its surfing spot "Jaws".
  • Arguably the very best Windsurfing and Kite surfing in the world can be found Hookipa.
  • Some of the most recognized dives spots on the islands are found off Maui such as at Molokini and Lanai.
  • Stand-up paddle boarding is a rising star among Maui water sports and it is a rare day not to see many paddlers off the coast of Maui's south shore beaches.
  • Maui offers the water sport of parasailing in two different locations on the island, both Lahaina and Kaanapali.
  • The entire coastlines of both west and south Maui are the playground for kayaks.
  • Jet Ski riding is perhaps one of the most thrilling of the water sports offered on Maui
  • Sailing off the coast of Maui in any one of a variety of types of boats is one of Maui's premier water sports.

Maui is the spot for water sports, and we offer many at discount pricing.

Maui's Water Sports include a number of activity types:

  • Surfing
  • Windsurfing
  • Kite Surfing
  • Stand-up Paddle Boarding
  • Kayaking
  • Wake Boarding
  • Diving
  • Jet Ski's
  • Parasailing
  • Sailing

You'll be able to find information on many of these activities in this category of the site and even much more in the specific categories of activities mentioned above.

Tom's Tips - Maui Water Sports

  • Two of the most popular Maui water sports in the summer months are Parasailing and Jet Skiing. Keep in mind however that these water sports are only available from May 15th to December 15th when the Whales have gone
  • The "King" of Maui water sports is "Surfing" as this is the sport that was originated in the islands by the Hawaiians. If you'd like to learn how, Maui is the place.
  • We have surf locations that are just perfect for beginners and of course Maui is famous as a surfing location for experienced and professional surfers alike.
  • If you feel you have a "need for speed" on the water, try Wake Boarding, its a blast!

Pride of America Cruise Ship:

The Maui watersports tours will not pick up at the cruise boat pier but these tours can be reached via a Rent-A-Car that can be arranged through Tom Barefoot's Tours and you can be picked up by the Rent-A-Car shuttles right at the cruise ship dock. These Maui watersports packages are generally available on the Sunday and Monday of your Maui cruise itinerary.

Look for this symbol in the tour descriptions below to indicate if it is Pride of America compatible.
