I researched several snorkeling companies before I booked with Maui Snorkeling; I chose this company due to the 5-star reviews, 2-stop trip route & provided food. We had the best trip! The crew was friendly & helpful for us first-time snorkels, Captain was super funny, boat was clean & spacious. Can’t wait to come back for another snorkeling trip!
One of the best snorkeling excursions and experiences I’ve been on! Such a great crew who are all friendly, knowledgeable about the area and history, and help you have fun. Not to mention the boat itself is so nice! 10/10 recommend the swimming with the turtles and visiting the Molokini crater if you’re trying to decide which experience is right for you.
We had 9 family members, from ages 9-69, celebrating our twin grandson’s ninth birthday. The crew made sure we all had a great day. We all saw many fish, a turtle and a squid. Then we all enjoyed the slide. One of the best time we’ve ever had as a family. Thank you.

We did the early morning tour. They served coffee, muffins and yummy pastries. We were also served sandwiches, drinks/sodas/waters for lunch. This is really appreciated! It was really nice not to have to pack and bring these things while on vacation.
The Captain was knowledgeable, personable and had a great sense of humor. He was honest, fair and genuinely concerned that everyone has a great experience. The ladies working on the boat were also friendly, knowledgeable and fun. Their skill on the boat and in the water was quite impressive!
We loved snorkeling in the crater. The water was so calm and clear. We saw many different types of fish and other marine life. They were swimming all around us. On the way to the crater, we even got to see an out of season Whale Mama and her calf! Even our Captain was surprised that she was there. He moved the boat to ensure we all got to see her. It was majestic and beautiful. Our 14 year old son loved jumping off the boat and going down the slide. It was great because everyone cheered for each other on the slide. It was a really great time and perfect day!
The professional photos that were taken were really appreciated! It was well worth the cost to have the gift of these memories captured in such great photos. Our photographer was so sweet and just an overall lovely woman. Her skill for taking underwater pictures was incredible. She even gave us some great suggestions on other places to visit during our vacation.

So glad we decided to do this experience and went with the tour specifically! We did the 3 hour afternoon tour which was the perfect amount of time for my 9, 6, and 3 year old. They all went for it and even my 3 year old tried out the snorkel mask and had his head in the water for a few minutes. They also had really cool boogie boards that had little windows built in for my 3 year old when he was done with the mask. I also loved that this boat accommodated a smaller group of people in comparison to some of the other larger tours/boats. It felt very accommodating and didn't feel hectic or overwhelming. Lunch was great and the facilities/bathroom were very clean. The captain and crew were amazing, friendly, and had great suggestions of what else to experience while in Maui. They also had a photographer to photograph you in the boat and in the water, pictures you would probably otherwise miss out on, who was very reasonably priced and sweet! I would suggest to book your snorkel tour at the beginning of your stay in case the weather interferes and causes it to be rescheduled, so that you have time to fit the tour back in your trip/itinerary. I will definitely be a returning customer when I come back to Maui and hope my kids will be ready for the 5 hour trip by then!

If your thinking of snorkeling while on maui, Maui snorkeling is the way to go! Crew is so fun and makes you feel safe regardless of your swim level. The slide was very fun to try out. On our trip we got to see sea turtles and lots of beautiful fish on the reef! Such an amazing experience. Worth every penny! Had a massive sandwich, pasta salad plenty of drinks (non alcoholic) and fresh baked cookies. Would absolutely go again! Thanks crew for providing such a fun and safe experience 🩵

One of my favorite parts of my family’s trip! Crew was very knowledgeable and attentive; we got to snorkel with turtles and even seen dolphins on the way back! Food and music was provided and there was even a photographer on board. We had the best time!
We did the sunset constellation cruise and it was absolutely fantastic. Harriet was so fun and we learned so many cool things about our constellations and navigation. The crew was fantastic and provided excellent food and drinks!
We recently did the two stop snorkeling with PacWhale and it was amazing! The crew was exceptional and made it an extremely memorable experience for our family of four. The Molokini crater was super cool and full of sea life and we even got to spot a sea turtle at the second stop. PacWhale had comfortable lifejackets for kids and alternative floatation devices for adults to help relax and snorkel. They also had an option to rent a wet suit top to help stay comfortable. It was nice having a light breakfast and a full lunch included. The crew constantly checked on us to make sure we didn’t need anything and helped make it memorable for our kids with endless hot chocolate and a special session while sailing for the kids to learn about sea life. The snorkeling was great and the hospitality alone from the crew was exceptional. Highly recommend!

One of my favorite parts of my family’s trip! Crew was very knowledgeable and attentive; we got to snorkel with turtles and even seen dolphins on the way back! Food and music was provided and there was even a photographer on board. We had the best time!
We did the sunset constellation cruise and it was absolutely fantastic. Harriet was so fun and we learned so many cool things about our constellations and navigation. The crew was fantastic and provided excellent food and drinks!
We recently did the two stop snorkeling with PacWhale and it was amazing! The crew was exceptional and made it an extremely memorable experience for our family of four. The Molokini crater was super cool and full of sea life and we even got to spot a sea turtle at the second stop. PacWhale had comfortable lifejackets for kids and alternative floatation devices for adults to help relax and snorkel. They also had an option to rent a wet suit top to help stay comfortable. It was nice having a light breakfast and a full lunch included. The crew constantly checked on us to make sure we didn’t need anything and helped make it memorable for our kids with endless hot chocolate and a special session while sailing for the kids to learn about sea life. The snorkeling was great and the hospitality alone from the crew was exceptional. Highly recommend!
We went on a snorkeling trip to Molokini. Although we ended up not seeing the turtles that we came for, it was a lovely experience. Molokini ocean life is just beautiful, the crew was very accommodating and gave great instructions to first-time snorkelers. We also stopped at a second snorkeling location. Between that and all the snacks, I definitely got my money's worth.

We went out on the Ocean Guardian with Captain Bobby and his crew for a snorkel adventure to Molokini, and it was incredible. From start to finish, everything was smooth, welcoming, and memorable. Aaron checked us in and gave us a clear, friendly rundown of what to expect. The boat was spotless. Breakfast was just right—light but satisfying before snorkeling. Lunch exceeded expectations.

The crew was warm, welcoming, and so knowledgeable - they shared amazing facts and stories about Maui, the ocean, and the local wildlife throughout the trip. They also took time to explain how to respectfully care for the ʻāina (land) and ocean, which made the experience feel even more meaningful.

Booked my scuba dive trip with Maui Diamond Sea Sport, was the best choice I made for my scuba trip to the Molikinu Crate in Maui, The trip was amazing, the boat is big, with drinks and snacks, the have everything planned and organize for you, you just show up, and scuba. Don was our guide this time and he was great! His briefings were professional and he was a great leader through both dives. Dave went around from group to group underwater and took photos of us in action. This was truly the highlight of our trip. It allowed us to focus on the diving without managing a camera.

The boat itself was spotless, comfortable, and perfectly equipped for a day on the water. The crew were knowledgeable, super friendly, and clearly passionate about the ocean. They made us feel totally at ease and took care of everything - from top-notch diving gear to drinks and snacks on board.

The visibility was unbelievable, more than 100ft in any direction. And Ben Gunn was a hidden gem - far less trafficked but absolutely teeming with life. The crew was experienced and very attentive. Our dive master did a great job of not only pointing out unique sea life, but telling us what it was on his pad. I enjoyed the crater, but the second dive (at Marty's reef) was even better.
Fantastic Boat with an amazing crew who loves what they’re doing and knows all the popular dives sites as well as some hidden gems. We picked a wildcard day and it was amazing. Captain Ben was super friendly and very thorough with the safety briefing. The dive team was well staffed and very organized. We had divemaster Don who was super chill, laid back, always smiling and very thorough on the dive briefings and provided a very clear picture of each dive site and the different things we might encounter at each dive site. If you’re looking for a unbeatable diving experience this is it!!
Fantastic dive guide team and boat ride. Friendly, personable, and professional. Great dive spots and safety briefings. I did two excursions (two different days). First was the Molokini Crater two tank dive. Second day was the Lani Cathedrals two tank dive. Molokini Crater visibility was great. Dive guide pointed out a frog fish and octopus, in addition to some small reef sharks swimming by. Cathedrals was a new experience for me, diving through the lava formations and seeing the rare black coral. Very cool! The second dive for both excursions was a drift dive along the shore rock walls, where we saw eels, turtles, and lots of variety of fish.
Excellent captain and boat crew, attentive dive guides and just an overall fun atmosphere. 🙂

We had a GREAT time with Jess and Captain Matt on this excursion to Turtle Town and Molokini Crater! The water is so clear, and this was definitely a highlight of our week. So nice to go directly from Kihei for a shorter boat ride and more time in the water.
Captain Matt, Jess, and Michelle Joy are the most amazing people you would hope to meet. They will forever be Ohona. They took such great care of my twins and I. We saw wonderful sea life. I highly recommend them.

Our tour included snorkeling and Turtle Town but they got a call about dolphins nearby so we detoured slightly to catch a good glimpse and learn about dolphins. Turtle Town was also great and the tour finished with lunch—great sandwiches, chips and drinks. I would recommend Mākena Coast Charters to anyone looking to snorkel Molokini. The seats on the boat were very comfortable (I had worried about the ride because of back problems) and I’ve never seen water as blue as the back side of the crater (where the depth drops to 300 feet). Morning is the optimal time for this trip. Book the first trip of the day and you won’t be disappointed.
We were very excited to go on this snorkeling tour over to the crater. We got all the way over to the crater and the wind picked up so they decided to take us to turtle town. Got over to turtle town and I was literally in the water for five minutes before they told us to come back in Because the wind was coming our way and it was going to get very very rough. Now I understand they can’t control the weather, but that being said we rode back and probably the worst boating experience I’ve ever had. Literally felt like getting buckets and buckets of water dumped on your head while you’re hitting waves And bouncing off of your seat. Our eyes were singing from the saltwater and it felt like forever. Again, not their fault but when we got back, they basically said goodbye and asked us for tips. That in my opinion is horrible customer service and just made the whole experience that much worse. If they would have been a little more apologetic and maybe offered another tour or a discount on another tour or something, that would have been understandable and again we knew they couldn’t control the weather. But they literally dropped us off at the dock and made a joke about giving them a tip and a large tip and said goodbye. We would never do this tour again due to that behavior. We paid over $500 for our family and did absolutely nothing except almost drown.

The 2-hour sunset tour was beautiful, with great views, tasty spring rolls and chicken, and excellent cocktails. Staff were friendly and the timing was perfect for our kids (ages 4 and 6). However, no reminder call, text, or email was sent the day before—which would’ve helped with our busy Maui schedule. This is why I’m giving 4 stars.
We had a wonderful snorkelling trip to the Molokini crewed by the brilliant Jess, Micah and Brandon. The crew were hard working, caring, informative and fun to be around. They couldn’t have been nicer and made the trip. We saw lots of beautiful tropical fish along with Octopus, and moray eels. Food was delicious. The best part though was just sailing along on the beautiful boat. A wonderful day.
The team we had Sunday morning was great, super funny, kind and genuine. Totally worth getting up early and sailing with them. Breakfast, drinks and lunch was provided.

What a great excursion! Highly recommended! Snorkeling in the Molokai Crater was breathtaking and we had the amazing experience of following a mama humpback and baby calf for most of the morning.
