Sightseeing Land Tours

Kauai sightseeing tours are some of the most picturesque to be experienced in Hawaii.

Kauai is the home of some of the very most beautiful scenery to be found on any of the Hawaiian Islands and Kauai Land Tours to these areas are among the most rewarding to be taken.

Rarely does an island have so much to offer in so small an area as does Kauai.

From the charming Hanalei Valley on the north shore to the jungles of the Wailua River to the shear carved and sculpted cliffs of the Waimea Canyon, Kauai is the ideal location to visit on its many land tours.

Kauai has captured the imagination of many through the major role it has played in the Hollywood movie industry.

Over the years Kauai has been the backdrop for some of the largest and most expensive "block buster" movies ever created.

Among these famous movies have been King Kong, Jurassic Park, Seven Days and Six Nights, Donavan's Reef, Blue Hawaii, South Pacific, Fantasy Island, and many, many more.

You will be familiar with these locations as you pass by on your island land tour and in fact one company even specializes in going simply to these movies sights alone.

Some of the most popular Kauai sightseeing tours offered on the island are:

  • Wailua River Cruise and Fern Grotto - This is a tour that visits the old historic town of Lihue and then cruises up the Wailua River on a river boat in route to the exotic Fern Grotto.

  • The Waimea Canyon Tour - This tour takes you into the famous Waimea Canyon which is often referred to as the "Grand Canyon of the Pacific".

  • Hanalei Valley Tour - The Hanalei Valley on Kauai's north shore is one of the most beautiful, tranquil, exotic and lovely locations to be seen in all Kauai.

  • Waimea Canyon and Fern Grotto Tour - This popular tour combines two of the most beloved land tour locations on the island.

  • Backroads Tour 1/2 Day - This is a four-wheel drive tour that takes you into the 22,000 acre private Grove Farm Plantation. This area of the island has tons of history to explore and you will learn much about Kauai's rich heritage.

The island of Kauai is really rich with sightseeing tours, lots to see, absolutely a beautiful, beautiful island.

Now not to say that you can't go see some of this stuff on your own. For sure you can. You have a Rental Car, you can go out and you can go to the Waimea Valley. You can drive up to Hanalei and those areas and really enjoy yourself. But there are absolutely spectacular things that'll happen on some of the sightseeing tours that you just wouldn't be able to do on your own.

First of all, just the regular tours that'll go out that will go the Waimea Valley, the Grand Canyon of the Pacific and see that. Go to the North Shore areas and the big surf in the Hanalei area and all that up there. They're going to be telling you about a lot of stuff that you would not be able to know or understand or appreciate on your own. So just on that level it's great to go on a sightseeing tour on Kauai.

But there's some other types of things that can happen there, that do happen there that really are beyond your experience otherwise. There are tours that take you up into the Wailua River, okay? So it's a sightseeing tour that'll take you to a boat ride that'll then take you on a short excursion up the river. Absolutely beautiful. Wailua River is one of the most amazing rivers you can imagine.

There are photo tours that we have, tours that will take you out to beautiful, beautiful places in Kauai, and then teach you how to use your camera to get the very best shots that you can get. This is something obviously it's going to stay with you over and above your tour to Kauai. Not only will you come back with unbelievable photos but you'll be able to use this knowledge the next place you visit, but that's an example.

We have one of the most unusual of all tours you could imagine, is called the Movie Tour. What this is, really a unique idea, you go out in a van that is a little big larger. One of the, maybe they carry 15 people or something like that, the kind that you can stand up in, seated on both sides, and then the very front above where the driver sits, there's a television monitor there. Because Hawaii or Kauai has been such the place over the course of years that Hollywood has made so many movies there, that they play scenes from old movies that you're familiar with, tons of them. They'll stop at a particular scene, they'll capture it on the screen and then they'll drive up to a place where they actually show you where that is. It's all over the place, all over Kauai. It is actually one of the more popular tours that we have. Such a unique and interesting idea that people are really, really interested to do it.

We have places, tours that'll take you up behind closed gates, up into the forest and jungle, then take you up roadways up to a point where you can't even go any further and then take you on maybe a little bit of a walk up a road. Not really a hike I would say but maybe an additional mile or so, really getting into the back woods, if you will, back forest of Kauai and really having a chance to appreciate it.

So sightseeing is a big thing on Kaua. One of the most beautiful islands you will ever see and we have lots of tours that you will really, really appreciate.
