What a great experience! While visiting our son and dauther-in-law on O'ahu, we wanted to include a luau in our trip. We also wanted a more intimate gathering. Chief's Luau was the right fit. The pre-dinner interaction with the 'family' was educational and fun - we made palm leaf headbands, tasted poi and salmon, got air-brush stencil 'tattoos, and had opportunities to throw fishing spears and start fires. There were several tables of local art for sale as well.
The meal was abundant and delicious, following the ceremony of revealing the 'emu pit of roast pig, with choices for the meat eater and vegetarian.
The Polynesian history and dances as well as the subtle humor of the Chief made for a very entertaining evening. The dancers were wonderful and the unexpected finale included fire dancing.
We would highly recommend this attraction to anyone looking for a great evening luau, especially with the Chief and his 'family.'

I want to thank everyone at Chief's Luau - and share that my daughter-in-law, who is visually impaired, enjoyed the show as much as the rest of us because she appreciated the detailed storytelling - she couldn't see the dancers, but she could visualize the tale, and felt the music and heard the dancers, allowing her to enjoy the show much more than she thought she could.
