I aqm looking to book a Ka'a'awa valley ride on 11/23/11. Is it possible for me to bring my own pedals so I can clip in?

Indeed you can!

Great tour! Really enjoyed the commentary from both guides. Adequate rest stops and the scenery was amazing. Each guide brought a unique perspective and commentary to the experience. Wish they had been full suspension bikes but oh well can't have it all..

First, the tour guide was very good and she did an excellent job overall. The scenery was very good also and the movie sites were great for photos. However, there are sections of the ride that were more challenging than we expected. We had never rode mountain bikes before so we didn't expect the hills and loose gravel. I'd recommend creating two versions of the tour: one that includes all of the current trail (and more), and another version that only goes through the valley area without any steep hills. Or maybe a warning would be helpful so people with no previous mountain bike experience don't panic in the first few steep hills.

This day was awesome! The ranch is beautiful, and the guide was great at pacing the group and friendly.
Just to be clear, this is a lot of exercise! And you are going to get muddy and wet! But it is well worth it.
I had never mountain-biked before, and the guide gives you ample time to get to gears with the bikes (which are awesome), and the terrain is good for beginners. It is not constant cycling for the whole day, but it is certainly more enjoyable with some cycling experience (or at least muscles). Well worth it, and much more fun than the other ways of seeing the ranch!

Outstanding- it was the best- I will do it again the next time I go.
