Well, you would think that the Pacific Whale Foundation would be the perfect company to go on a whale watch with on Maui, and if that was you're first thought, you would have been right. These guys just can't wait for the whales to come back in the winter. They love to go out and see them and incorporate all sorts of research into these whale watch tours as well. In mid-winter they even coordinate an island-wide whale count involving hundreds of people standing at various locations on the island and on the waters counting the whales during a specific time of day. They have whale watching tours that leave from both Lahaina and Maalaea Harbors all day long and the "marine naturalists" they have on board will tell you the fascinating story behind these gentle giants of the sea and make sure to answer all your questions.
