The following question was answered by Leslie.
We are coming to Maui and want to do some sport fishing. I keep reading that we are not allowed to keep our catch. What in the world is that about? If we pay for the boat and catch a fish shouldn't we be allowed to keep it Doesn't seem fair so please explain.
On Maui, most boats will be happy to filet some fish for you. Especialy the good eating fish like Mahi Mahi, Ahi and Ono. There are still a few boats left in the state that still keep all the fish, so its best to ask that question before you book a particular boat. We do have some boats that can even arrange for your trophy catch to be mounted!
