During whale season on Oahu is it better to go out on the North Shore to see the whales or somewhere near Waikiki?
In addition to being much closer to where you are probably staying, Waikiki is probably a better choice. For sure whales will be along the North Shore as well but they won't be any more plenty-full and you can avoid the drive. Also, the North Shore in the winter time is often plagued with huge surf which will not make for the most ideal whale watching conditions.
Over the years our clients have asked us literally thousands of different questions. We have collected the answers to some of them that seem to come up relatively frequently and posted them on this page.
The Hawaii whale watching season is the most anticipated time of year regarding activities in the islands. Whale watching is available for visitors to enjoy between December and May.
