The following question was answered by Joy.
What island is the best one to go to if I want to go on a whale watching tour?
The Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary, which is jointly managed by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the State of Hawaii, lies within the shallow warm waters surrounding the main Hawaiian Islands and constitutes one of the world's most important humpback whale habitats.
With about 66% of the North Pacific population wintering in Hawaii each year, up to 10,000 humpback whales could come to Hawaii this winter.
Due to the relatively shallow water between the islands of Maui, Lanai and Molokai Maui sees the largest number of whales of all of the islands. Maui No Ka Oi (is the best) for whale watching!
