The Pacific Whale Foundation has been a major player in the boating industry of Maui for since 1980. They are perhaps best known for their whale watches, but they also offer a variety of different snorkeling trips, dinner cruises, sunset and sightseeing cruises. The Pacific Whale Foundation is well known for their commitment to the environment, and more specifically to the whales that migrate here seasonally. They also offer very informative Dolphin Watches with underwater hydrophones and often see False Killer Whales, Pilot Whates and other species of Toothed Whales. Also, in their repertoire are Stargazing Cruises, a Full Moon Cruise and Sunset Specials. The Pacific Whale Foundation is consistently involved in local education, research and clean-up projects. On most of their trips you will find a host of Marine Naturalists and Research Interns that are on board working on their projects and when they're not busy they are available to answer questions from guests. The Pacific Whale Foundation has trips departing from Lahaina as well as Maalaea Harbors. Each of their locations is complete with a retail store that sells a variety of different Pacific Whale Foundation merchandise as well as a variety of different books and other informational resources.
The Pacific Whale Foundation is one of the main companies we have on island that goes out in search of the whales during the winter months. In addition, throughout the year they also offer boat tours to snorkel at Molokini, dolphin watches that look for dolphins and snorkel off the coast of Lanai and have rigid hull inflatable tours that visit the back side of Lanai.
