If you would like to get out in nature when you're in Hawaii then you should definitely consider adding a hiking tour to your vacation's itinerary. While many of the trails in Hawaii are publicly accessible, many are not and are located on private lands. Regardless of whose land the trail goes over they all share the same sorts of hazards. Flash floods, rapidly eroding hillsides and other hazards are all very common and unless you're already very experienced being in the jungles of Hawaii before then we definitely recommend that you get acclimated to the environment here by first taking a guided tour.

We decided to go for a hiking adventure with Hike Maui through the Wailele Permaculture farm and the surrounding park areas and waterfalls. We met our guide in Kahului at the "Park & Ride" parking lot.
Hiking on Kauai can be both awe inspiring and dangerous. Like a Venus Fly Trap the beauties of Kauai can lure the uninitiated hikers into situations they are not prepared for and the statistics clearly show that accidents happen often to those who are not prepared and who have little idea as to what they are getting into when they choose to take a day hike into Kauai's wild and beautiful landscapes.
