On Hawaii-Hilo Volcano Special - Roberts Hawaii
Prepare for a thrilling day exploring volatile volcanoes, volcanic craters and lava tubes on Hawaii's enchanting "Big Island." The highlight of this daylong adventure is a trek to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park to come face to face with Kilauea and Mauna Loa, two of the most famous active volcanoes on the planet. The adventure kicks off at Hilo's only black sand beach, then heads to Rainbow Falls State Park for a glimpse of an 80-feet waterfall breaking over a natural lava cave. After a foray to the Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Factory, you will get acquainted with the island's volcano culture and legends at Kilauea's Jaggar Museum. While at the Thurston Lava Tube, stroll through a 500-year-old lava tube where molten lava once flowed.
These stops are great precursors for the tour's sensational finale, a trip to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, where continuous seismic activity keeps things more than intriguing. Here, you will encounter Kilauea, one of the world's most active volcanoes, and Mauna Loa, which holds the distinction as the largest volcano on Earth. While there is no guarantee for a red-hot lava flow sighting, you definitely will gain a deeper appreciation and understanding of the island's magical volcanoes.

The Evening Volcano Special tour ended up being our only disappointing excursion. This was mainly due to there not being any active lava flowing in early May, and the fact that some of the tour group had flown in from Oahu and had to catch the plane at the airport around 4:30, thus no watching lava in the dark conditions. The tour was interesting, Thurstan lava tube was neat and the crater and lava flow ruins we very interesting.
I tried to book a tour On Sunday night via internet and was unable to due to late planning on my part. I then, tried the 800 number but the office was closed - However, the next morning I received a call early in the morning from a lovely agent named Trish Teeters, in a very courteous and professional manner she was able to get me booked for a Volcano tour. A special call out to Mrs Teeters she made my vacation unforgettable. The tour itself was well planned and informative. The tour guide was also nice and experienced however, at one point almost left me behind at the flower stop. The restaurant, Lava restaurant was also a highlight of our stop, the food was delicious and the waitress was one of the most funniest and accommodating server ever! I very much enjoyed the entire experience and will recommend this tour to all... Thank you for such a great time!
