Kilauea Volcano Bike - Nui Pohaku Adventure Tours
Your day begins with a fully narrated drive from the Hilo area to Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park. Ride a bike through the Volcanoes National Park and explore the lava in the Puna district all on one tour. Experience the volcano up close and personal as you ride through lush rain forest and lava frozen in time on your 21 speed mountain bike. Your cycling adventure takes place around the rim of the Kilauea Volcano and down a portion of the Chain of Craters road. It consists of mostly level terrain with a couple of small uphill and downhill sections thrown in for fun. Along with the cycling portion, you will hike through the rain forest that leads directly through an amazing lava tube. You will also witness the heart of the volcano exploding at Halema'uma'u Crater. During your ride, you will stop at the Jagger Museum, home to many seismographs which monitor every twitch of the earth.

Very knowledgable and enthusiastic guides. A great way to see this area.
Hunter and Pono were terrific today! At every opportunity, they filled us with energy, information, and a desire to keep on moving! Their knowledge of the area was exceptional and their attention to details made the trip first class and five star. From offering to take group pictures at every opportunity, to keeping us hydrated, to making sure every aspect of the ride was a perfect fit ~ they were both spot-on! I wouldn't do the tour any other way! The biking adventure was by far the best experience! Hunter and Pono were terrific today! Pono was our guide and he was fabulous! We enjoyed his humorous stories and the little "extras" he threw in during the tour showing us places where no other tours go! Steve the owner was very considerate and understanding when we had an illness and weren't sure if we would be able to go. Turns out we were well enough and so glad we didn't miss this adventure. Tom Barefoot rep even called to see how we were doing and whether we were well enough to go. This was an above and beyond service from everyone!
Even before the tour started, I was very impressed with Tom's Barefoot. My husband and I waited until we got down to Hawaii before making our reservations and it was quite difficult to set something up with such short notice! Tom's Barefoot really helped us out and worked with some of the other companies to find us a spot! The tour itself was pretty awesome. The trails weren't too difficult and the sights were incredible. Our bus driver and bike guide did a great job explaining the sights and history behind it. All in all a great tour!
