We had a great time on the Makani Catamaran. I do think it would've benefited a little more if there was music on the boat and also if we had stopped for longer than we did instead of driving around the whole time.
There were three of us, a married couple in their 50s and my 79 year old mom. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meal, drinks, cruise and the company! The captain and first mate were wonderful. The sunset was rather hazy, but we did catch a delightful rainbow and the fireworks were amazing! Thanks for such a terrific last night in Hawaii!
I think the whole trip was nice, but I have a feeling the description wasn't representative of the actual experience. I was expecting something different. What is sold as a dinner seemed more like "having lunch on a boat". Too many people on board (I think we were around 30) and tons of babies and kids, which didn't make it feel like "escaping and relaxing". Some people seemed to struggle to find a spot to sit down. The staff was nice though. I just think the description isn't representative. Oh! And there wasn't any "city lights" really since we got back to the dock before it was dark. So, yeah. A little bit disappointed. Cool boat and cool staff though.
