Good service. We saw both a swimmingpool turtlle and a lot of swimming dolp=
hins. We also swam in the water egen the dolphins swam under us.
December booking - arrival time 6 a.m. (we arrived a little before 6) and it was dark. Directions to arrive were not clear, where to park was not clea r, poorly lit parking lot(s). Departure time we were told was 6:30 a.m., but we did not leave until after 7 a.m.. The duration says 4 hours, but we were not out that long. The crew was great - both Jen and Austin were very pleasant and did a great job. Unfortunately we did not see any dolphins the whole time we were out on the water. We went on a excursion to see a supposed killer whale sighting which turned out to be a false report. Snorkeling was nice at both spots, but not worth $365 to just snorkel, as you can go to Kailua Beach, Shark Cove, KoOlina Lagoons, or many other spots around the island for free or Hamauma Bay for a much smaller fee and see the same beautiful coral, fish, and sea life. Apparently you can pay an additional $20 per person to "guarantee" a dolphin sighting/swim or your money back, but this was not explained to us at the time of the booking and it was not offered to us that morning. We were told Ko Olina guaranteed their sightings when we booked it. Afterwards, when we called to get a credit back, they did not pick up the phone or return my call. Barefoot Tours did call back and made a concession/goodwill gesture to us as Ko'Olina Ocean Adventures told Barefoot Tours they would not do anything. All in all, we were disappointed in the excursion for the price. I do hope your percentages for dolphin sightings online are accurate at a posted "95% success rate" and you are not misleading the tourists into a false sense of hope.
Crew was great but so many people on the boat makes it tough and you feel a bit like a cattle being herded. Understand why but considering price I expected more. Good for someone who has very limited experience being in water. Regardless, my kids enjoyed themselves and I was generally pleased.
We saw Dolphins, fish and sea turtles! Great tour and we felt lucky...but always get the $20 "insurance" so that in case there are no sightings, you get your money back!
