- Not really a kayaking tour but essentially a tubing tour where you jump in an inner tube and float down miles of a flume system built in the early 1900's. Float over trestles, through tunnels, through forests and end up at a fresh mountain pool and water fall. Reserve early, this often books out a month or more in advance.

Don't wait!!! Reserve early if you would like to enjoy this very popular and unique experience to ride on large inner tubes through ancient irrigation ditches. This tour is a great adventure for all ages. Tube through miles of ditches, tunnels and flumes. Go through 5 tunnels in total, one about half a mile long. Explore tropical rain forests and lush valleys, see breathtaking ocean and mountain vistas, and swim in a natural swimming hole, conditions permitting.
Operates: Daily at 8:00am- 3:00pm tour times may be available. Check in 30 minutes prior. Please inquire.
Departure Point: 3-4131 Kuhio Highway in Hanama'ulu on Route 56.
Duration: 3 hours.
Equipment: Gloves, headlamps and tubes.

Inclusions: All necessary equipment, a picnic style lunch, a scenic drive and approximately 1 hour of tubing.
Exclusions: Rental shoes are available for $5.00, and wet suit tops for $10.00.
Restrictions: The minimum age to participate in this activity is 5 years old. Guests must be at least 43 inches tall to participate. Children under 15 years old must be accompanied by an adult. Children who are 16 and 17 years old may attend the tour unaccompanied, but a parent must come to check in the minor and sign the waiver for them. Guests who are claustrophobic or who have back problems should not participate in this tour. The maximum weight allowed for guests is 300lbs.
Cancellation Policy is 48 hours for 1 to 5, 72 hours for groups of 6 to 9, 7 days for groups of 10 or more. This means that once you're within 48 hours, 72 hours or 7 days respectively of the start time, the tour is non refundable. If you choose to cancel before this time, the standard 3% cancellation fee will apply. If the vendor needs to cancel your tour because of weather, a mechanical issue or any other reason you will receive a 100% refund of the price you paid.
Pride of America Cruise Ship: For Pride of America Cruise Ship passengers Tour company does not provide pick up. This tour can be reached via private transportation choices, taxi or car rental. Tour can be reserved Thursday or Friday of your cruise ship schedule. Please ask agent if you have questions regarding transportation and tour/departure location. Book well in advance to assure availability.

Really enjoyable and good for all ages. Great staff and one of a kind experience in a very unique setting. It's always fun to be on the water but this is easy duty tube riding in fairly gently moving water and the caves make it fun. This is not boring.

Great trip, great guides.. Hope you get Drake, Isaiah and Rudy. Those guys made the trip fun fro all. Would reccomend this for couples, families and kids. Water was great and the guides were really informative about the island (great places to eat and things to see) Fun time.

We had an amazing trip! Our guides Maci and Sierra and Steven were hilarious and so helpful! I can't wait to come back and do it again. It couldn't have been more perfect. The introductions in the van made it so comfortable for everyone so when we bumped tubes later it took the awkwardness out of it. Some people in our group were really scared but the guides made it so much less intimidating and allowed us to relax and enjoy it! 10/10 would recommend to anyone!!!

Great adventure. Interesting information. Enjoyed the tubing. My only negative is they did not have a pick up from the cruise ship and we had to contact them for a number to get a taxi since they were few and far between at the port. Very thankful for their help in providing the number so we could do the excursion we had booked with them.

That being said, when you visit Kauai, a MUST-DO is the Tubing Adventure with Kauai Backcountry Adventures!!! It's a leisurely 45-minute float down a river with rapids, tunnels, and even a drop and a little waterfall near the end! The guides were very knowledgeable about the history of the island and the sugar plantation, and did a great job involving all us adventurers. Lunch at the end was great, and there was never any feeling that we were being rushed along for the next tour to come through.

What a great time. Our guide Hollywood was fantastic. He made the trip. The only thing I would suggest is that u put the name of the company I. The confirmation emails as we were looking for toms barefoot tours not Kauai back country tours other than that a fantastic tour. Would highly recommend

Kauai Backcountry Adventures run a very organized tour! They made sure that everyone had the right equipment before we boarded the vans. In the van ride to the water, our driver was informative and funny!
Our group have about 20 people with 2 guides.
Going down the in the tubes reminded me of traveling along a "lazy river" at a hotel resort. Inside the tunnels we used our head lamps to guide the way and outside the tunnels we enjoyed the lush green scenery. In the 45 minute tubing ride, you go through 5 tunnels...making 80% of the tubing trip in the tunnels.
Unfortunately for myself, the ride felt like riding the "Madhatter's Teacup Ride" in Disneyland. i was wishing that the trip would end because the inner tubes would bump against a rocky sides and spin me around. Everyone in the group seemed to enjoy spinning around in the tube...but not me. I wish that i would have taken Dramamine! (my husband did...and enjoyed the trip!)
Remember pack a waterproof neck pouch for the iphone....then you can take photos of the adventure!

The tour was fantastic..loved being serenaded by ukele in the tunnels...the tour guides were fun, informative and entertaining!!Highly recommend...but beware the water is chilly, but on a hot day it felt refreshing..

Kauai Backcountry Tubing was truly an adventure. All 7 of us loved the tour. There was a perfect mix of lazy river and fast paced floating. Best part is when the lights go out!
The only challenge is that they do not offer transportation and you have to check in by 7am. We found it difficult to coordinate a ride. There were taxis were scarce at the dock that early in the morning and the island only has about 2 Uber/Lyfte drivers. We found 1 driver who was willing to make two trips as our party did not all fit at one time. Transportation aside, we highly recommend this tour! 5 Star....
