Kona Cloud Forest, Coffee Farm - Hawaiian Walkways
Travel up the beautiful Hualalai Mountain. Here you will find the highest organic Coffee Farm in the states. Spend a little over an hour here where you will be given a forty-minute tour of the facilities and learn just about as much as you want to know about how coffee is grown, picked, made and sold. You can even try some samples of the Coffee they have ready for you. You will check out the farm itself and a couple of lava tubes as well. From there, drive a little bit down the road and enter the Kona Cloud Forest Sanctuary. The sanctuary consists of 75 acres and was developed by Mr. Norman Bezona, a horticulturist who was pretty famous at the University of Hawaii for many years. He has developed an amazing forest of almost 100 types of trees and many types of ferns and plants from all over the world.
Lunch will be served in the forest on the deck of a log home. With the hike only being about 45 minutes long the coffee tour at around an hour and lunch for about a half an hour this is the shortest and easiest trip offered. On your way back down the mountain there will be a stop at one more farm for a quick tour at a highly awarded coffee shop down by the coast.
Operates: Daily in the morning, per reservation. Please call the day before to confirm your pick up time and location.
Departure Point: Pick up from various hotels and resorts in Kona, Waikoloa, Mauna Lani and Hapuna.
Duration: Approximately 5 hours, including travel time.

Lunch will be served in the forest deck of a log home. Your choice of wrap: Kahlua Pork, Hawaiian Chicken, Tofu Veggie, or Fresh Catch Wrap.
Inclusions: Guide, lunch, snacks and beverages, backpack, walking stick, and rain gear if needed. Japanese language translation is available by request.
Serves Alcohol: There is not any alcohol available during the activity.
Foreign Language Translation: Japanese translation is available during the activity.
Handicapped Accessible: This tour is not suitable for handicapped individuals.
Required Certifications: The participant is not required to have any certification or special license in order to participate.
What to Bring: It is recommended that you bring a camera with you. We suggest bringing your camera in a ziplock bag in case you need to protect it from the elements. It is required that everyone wears closed toed shoes on this activity. We recommend that everyone in your group brings warm clothes.
Restrictions: Children whose age is less than eight years old are not permitted on this activity. Cancellations of this reservation cannot be made within seventy-two hours of the scheduled check in time. There is a possibility that you and/or belongings may get wet.
This tour has a 72 hour cancellation policy. This means that once you're within 72 hours of the start time, the tour the tour is non refundable. If you choose to cancel before this time, the standard 10% cancellation fee will apply. If the vendor needs to cancel your tour because of weather, a mechanical issue or any other reason you will receive a 100% refund of the price you paid. This activity is not accessible by wheelchair or walker. Guests can expect to walk in rainy conditions.
For Pride of America Cruise Ship passengers this tour is available with pick-up at the Kailua-Kona dock on Wednesday of your cruise schedule. Must be at least 8 years old.
