Volcano Heritage Tour - Hawaiian Village Tours
The volcano heritage tour is one of the most amazing historic and scenic tours on the Big Island of Hawai'i, taking you through some of the richest rain forest on the island, and down to the blue ocean coastline. Starting with a tour of Hilo town, make your way up to Kaiwiki rain forest. In the heart of this rain forest is beautiful Rainbow Falls. You will also see beautiful Mackenzie State Park which offers some amazing photo opportunities. When the pounding surf hits against the vast cliffs, it creates an amazing blow hole effect. This is the number one spot for whale watching and turtle sightings during the winter months. Take a scenic route to Kapoho at one of the island's most popular geothermal heated ponds. Ahalanui Park is where fresh water flows from underground springs. The springs are located in close proximity to open lava vents, which produce the natural warm springs. The pond mixes with ocean water through daily movement of the tide, which helps to keep the pond clean. The last but most amazing stop lands you in the heart of an old fishing village, Kalapana town, which was taken over by the lava flow in 1990.
