From Kauai - 33K Hawaii Eco Volcano Tour - Discover Hidden Hawaii Tours on Kauai
From the lush greenery of Kaua'i, travel to the Big Island and witness the power of Kilauea and explore the life of the volcano's eruptions. See the sites and destruction of the world's most active volcano. Erupting continuously since 1983, the life of Kilauea is seen through hardened lava fields, extinct volcanic lava tubes and active steam vents. Experience the town of Hilo, travel to Mount Kilauea and stop by Jagger Museum. Expert tour guides can show you the many unique sites of the Big Island. See the Japanese Edo-era garden, Lili'uokalani Gardens. Amaze yourself with a stop at Rainbow Falls, a roaring waterfall that plummets 80 feet into a pool below. Visit Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park, see famous attractions and stop at scenic vantage points overlooking craters and rain forests. Walk through the Thurston Lava Tube, created during an active lava flow through the forest. Stare into the depths of volcanic steam vents and be mesmerized. Enjoy panoramic views from the Halema'uma'u Crater Overlook and discover the beauty of Kilauea and Mauna Loa. Stop at a black sand beach, and also enjoy a no host lunch and dinner.

This was a great way to get a quick overview of another island. We were lucky to have a guide who was a retired geologist who knew the park inside out. The only downside was that the pace meant there was no time to linger anywhere. For anyone considering this tour, be prepared for a long day (16 hours return to Kauai)
