Your flight, piloted by FAA Certified Flight Instructors, is not "only" an opportunity to see these magnificent graceful mammals but after being given the basics of flight "you" can help fly the plane with Maui's spectacular vistas as your backdrop and the pods of playful whales beneath you!
Operates: Daily by reservation during the months of November through May. Confirm time with agent for date being booked when placing reservation.
Departure Point: Located behind the Kahului Heliport at 90 Kuhea Street, Kahului, HI 96732
Duration: 60 minutes.
Equipment: 1980 Piper Archer II 24' fixed single propeller, single engine (180 HP) plane featuring a/c, ergonomic seats with panoramic windows at each.
Capacity: Up to 3 passengers plus your pilot.
Inclusions: FAA Certified Flight Instructor Pilot, lei greeting, cold beverage, narrated air tour, window seat for each guests with an option for guest seated next to pilot to help "fly" the plane.
Exclusions: For guests who experience motion sickness it is recommended that you take motion sickness medication well in advance of departure time.
Restrictions: This is a seasonal tour and can only be booked/reserved for dates specified.
No age restrictions, minors must be accompanied by adults. There is a maximum weight restriction of 275lbs but accommodations can be made for someone outside this range. Combined weight of pilot and fuel influences the total allowable weight of remaining passengers. If a passenger weight exceeds the maximum, inform agent when placing reservation.
This tour has a 48 hour cancellation policy. This means that once you're within 48 hours of the start time, the tour is non refundable. If you choose to cancel before this time, the standard 3% cancellation fee will apply. If the vendor needs to cancel your tour because of weather, a mechanical issue or any other reason you will receive a 100% refund of the price you paid.
Pride of America Cruise Ship: For Pride of America Cruise Ship passengers tour company will not pick up cruise ship passengers at the cruise ship dock. This tour can be reached via a taxi or Tom Barefoot's Tours could arrange for a rental car shuttle to pick you up directly at the dock. This tour can be organized for Sunday or Monday of your cruise ship schedule.
