This trail is rated intermediate to advanced and is 3.5 miles round-trip. If you like lush tropical valleys and pristine mountain pools, you cannot miss this tour. Hikers will board a 4wd vehicle in Haleiwa town and off-road 7 miles to the trail-head. High in the Ko'olau mountains is a valley of unparalleled beauty with an abundance of exquisite freshwater pools and the best mountain swimming on the island! A delightful hike on Oahu, this trail includes more than 10 stream crossings and an amazing array of tropical flowers and fruits. See wild tangerines, liliko'i (passion fruit), ohi'a'ai (mountain apple), mango, hau (sea hibiscus), and much more. Enjoy the islands through Hawaiian eyes as your expert guide shares the history, language, and mo'olelo (stories) of Hawaii and its fascinating environment. This tour is all about the wai (water), so get your swimsuit on and strap up your hiking boots, because you're going on a Hawaiian style adventure!
Operates: Thursday and Saturday at 9:00am.
Departure Point: North Shore Marketplace at 66-250 Kamehameha Highway in Hale'iwa.
Duration: 6 hours.
Equipment: Pinzgauer transportation from Hale'iwa to the trailhead (about 7 miles).
Capacity: 8 guests.
Light gourmet lunch includes your choice of a chicken salad wrap or opae'ula shrimp rolls.

Inclusions: 4WD transportation to and from Hale'iwa, a knowledgeable guide, hiking sticks, mosquito repellent, sunblock, backpacks, dry bags, rain ponchos, water, and a light gourmet lunch. Spanish language translation is available by request.
Exclusions: Wear covered shoes, long pants, swimwear, a light jacket, sunglasses, a hat and a smile. Bring water/reef shoes or flip-flops and snacks if desired.
Restrictions: You must be in reasonably good condition to hike. The minimum age to participate in this activity is 10 years old. Although this trail is safe, please remember that it is an actual mountain trail. As such, hikers can expect exposure to rain, sunshine, wind and high humidity. Trail conditions include slippery stream crossings, loose gravel, slick mud and exposed cliffside sections. This trail has an elevation gain of 200 feet, so all hikers must be able to traverse up and down hill sections. This trail is not suitable for the elderly or people with hip and or knee ailments, vertigo, or an extreme fear of heights. This trail has many stream crossings and you will get wet. Be prepared for wet clothes and shoes and be mindful of your personal electronics. As hike ratings are relevant to a hiker's physical condition, please inquire first before reserving if you or anyone in your party has any medical conditions that may affect their ability to safely negotiate a mountain trail. Everyone is required to sign a waiver and release form prior to the start of their tour. Please also note that hiking tours require an off-road ride to the trailhead. Riders can get dirty due to rain or muddy conditions, so please don't wear anything you don't mind getting dirty.
This tour has a 48 hour cancellation policy. This means that once you're within 48 hours of the start time, the tour the tour is non refundable. If you choose to cancel before this time, the standard 3% cancellation fee will apply. If the vendor needs to cancel your tour because of weather, a mechanical issue or any other reason you will receive a 100% refund of the price you paid.

Absolutely five star. Recommend to all, but remember, it is a back country hike with several water crossings, slick and muddy trails but a great hike.
Our guide was outstanding and we made it to the end of the trail. Not everyone does.
