Fern Grotto Boat Cruise - Smith's Fern Grotto Cruise

During the two mile river journey, you'll hear songs and stories of ancient Hawai'i. You'll learn about the King's Highway, sacred Mount Kapu, and the first hau tree. In addition, guests can enjoy some Hawaiian entertainment and learn the hula during a lesson provided by a young hula dancer. At the landing, there is a short nature walk through the rainforest to the fern grotto. For our guests needing assistance with a walker please inform vendor at time of reservation so that you can be properly accommodated.

Operates: Daily at 9:30am, 11:00am, 2:00pm and 3:30pm.
Departure Point: Wailua Marina State Park at 174 Wailua Road in Kapa'a.
Duration: 1 hour and 20 minutes.
Equipment: Spacious, open air cruise boats powered by an ingenious rear-engine system invented by Walter Smith.
Capacity: 72 passengers on the smaller boat and 133 passengers on the larger boat.
Inclusions: Guided river tour, nature walk with a hula lesson you can participate in.
Exclusions: Garden Tour is not included but can be purchased for an additional fee.
Restrictions: This tour has a 48 hour cancellation policy. This means that once you're within 48 hours of the start time, the tour is non refundable. If you choose to cancel before this time, the standard 3% cancellation fee will apply. If the vendor needs to cancel your tour because of weather, a mechanical issue or any other reason you will receive a 100% refund of the price you paid.
Pride of America Cruise Ship: Smith's Fern Grotto Cruise will not pick you up directly at Nawiliwili Harbor. This tour can be reached via a taxi or Tom Barefoot's Tours could arrange for a rental car shuttle to pick you up directly at the dock. This Kaua boat tour is available on Thursday or Friday of your cruise ship schedule.
