Your Short-Board Basics Class includes 2 hours of instruction on floaty transition boards, or shorter bump and jump type gear. This class can be tailored your needs. Flat water sailors can use this class as an introduction to ocean sailing for the first time. This private lesson is not a beginner course but it is great for people with some long board experience who want to get into sailing stronger winds on smaller gear. In this class we can cover; Short-board Basics, board trim, beach-starts, pre-water start tips, how to use the harness, getting into the foot straps, and how to do some basic short-board turns and maybe some basic intro to some jibing.
Operates: Monday-Saturday 12:00 noon or 2:30 pm
Departure Point: Kanaha Beach Park located at Amala Pl, Kahului, HI 96732 3rd Parking Entrance where guests meet at the Action Sports Maui Van
Duration: 2 hours.
Equipment: All necessary windsurf board, sail equipment and gear.
Capacity: One on One
Inclusions: Guide-Instructor, special beginner boards and sails.
Exclusions: Boards and gear are available for rent at the store or bring your own.
Restrictions: Bring your own board and gear. All lessons are subject to weather conditions. The minimum age to participate in this activity is 8 years old. This tour has a 48 hour cancellation policy. This means that once you're within 48 hours of the start time, the tour is non refundable. If you choose to cancel before this time, the standard 3% cancellation fee will apply. If the vendor needs to cancel your tour because of weather, a mechanical issue or any other reason you will receive a 100% refund of the price you paid.
Pride of America Cruise Ship: Action Sports Maui will not pick up passengers at the cruise ship dock. These surfing lessons can be reached via a taxi or Tom Barefoot's Tours could arrange for a rental car shuttle to pick you up directly at the dock. This surf tour can be organized for the Monday of your cruise schedule.
