Who is Tom Barefoot Tom Barefoot (yes that’s his real name) came to Hawaii in 1973 from San Diego California at the age of 24. Within a year and a half of his arrival in the islands he began Tom Barefoot’s Tours, selling tours and activities in Hawaii and has been operational ever since. Over the years his company has grown from a one-man operation to a network of many tour and activity specialists. Tom’s son Jake came into the business as the Director of Human Resources, after his graduation with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and a Certificate in Management of Human Resources from Southern Oregon University in June of 2007 Tom lives in Olinda Maui, on a retreat property with the love of his life, Doreena Larisch. They operate an aromatherapy farm and spa dedicated to the education of the use of essential oils in creating well being and promoting healing and overall health.
