Smiths Tropical Paradise, Luau - Tom Barefoot's Tours |
Today we had an amazing time discovering the gardens at the Smiths Tropical Paradise and we also joined them for their evening Luau. I was born and raised on Maui and have extensively traveled all of the Hawaiian islands and can honestly say that there are very few plants that are harvested for consumption that grow in Hawaii that the Smiths did not have at least one variety of in their massive gardens, it was like a botanical version of Noah's ark. There was a trolley tour that took us around the gardens and then we met at the imu for the commencement of the Luau. We started out with some drinks at the open bar as we enjoyed some live music in the background. We chatted with the couple sitting next to us and then made our way through the massive buffet. We had a few more drinks and then made our way to the main stage to take in the nights entertainment. Here we enjoyed the Hawaiian Hula as well as a variety of dances from such Pacific locations as Tahiti, the Philippines, Tonga, Samoa and Fiji. They even had performances from such far off locations as China and Japan. We had classic still warm winter evening and everyone in our group left with Smiths Luau with a smile on their face. -Jake Barefoot
