Haleakala Bike Company - Tom Barefoot's Tours

Today we went up to the top of the Mountain with Haleakala Bike Company. This tour is a bit different then the rest. We met them very early in the morning at their bike shop in Haiku. From there they took us to the top of the crater for viewing the sunrise. We watched it from the top then they drove us down to the entrance of the park and dropped us off with our bikes to enjoy the ride down at our own pace. We liked it because we went fairly fast and could make unscheduled stops at our own convenience. However, there was a great deal of passing traffic as we got further down the hill which makes it a tour I would not recommend this for riders that are not comfortable riding in the bike lane with passing traffic.
