This particular trip with Blue Hawaiian Helicopters had ideal weather. It was extremely clear with not a breath of wind in the sky. We were lucky enough to get on the first flight of the day on their larger Eco Star helicopter. We began by going into the valleys of the West Maui Mountains to see the infamous wall of tears as well as the Iao Needle from the sky. We continued through Iao Valley and then passed above the ridge into the Ukumehame Valley. From here we continued on around the perimeter of the island in a counter clockwise manner passing the Kihei coast before we passed over the ridge through Kanaio and Kahikinui before we got to see the waterfalls in the high rainforests of Kipuhulu and Hana. Our pilot narrated as he skillfully maneuvered the aircraft through the most beautiful location on the island. We completed the trip around the island in just over an hour and made it back home just in time for breakfast.
