The trip to Lanai with Paragon Sailing Charters has been a favorite of mine since I was very young. The sleek design of this boat makes it sail extremely fast. In addition to the speed of this vessel they also take very small groups that never exceed 24 passengers. The waters surrounding the island of Lanai are known to be breeding grounds the Hawaiian spinner dolphins and we sighted a group of them them on the way over as well as on the way back. We did some snorkeling at a place called "pipi chute" where we saw some incredible schools of fish. After we were done snorkeling we landed in the Manele Harbor and were given picnic lunches in small coolers to take with us onto the island. We walked over to Hulupoe Bay and relaxed on the beach and did some bodysurfing in the shore break. The return trip was very relaxing, we were able turn off the motors and sail for most of the time. Then just as we got on the Lahaina side of the channel the captain even stopped the boat to go for a "blue water swim". This refreshing dip was a wonderful way beat the heat and was quite a nice way to culminate the days outing right before we pulled back into the harbor.
