Photo Stops on the Bike Tour - Bike It Maui

The folks at Bike it Maui must realize that everyone that goes on their bike trip is a natural "ham" when it comes to taking photos. Not only do they take you to a great spot for photos but they will pose you in a way that will leave you with fond memories of your trip for years to come. Everybody gets into the act and it's a bit of fun that you perhaps hadn't expected. They even provide a service on Bike It Maui web site in which they post your photos for your family and friends to see while you're still on vacation.
There is one stop where Bike It Maui often stops to take photos that is particularly interesting and fun. It is at a picturesque bend in the road with views of the central valley and the West Maui Mountains in the background. There is a meadow just back towards the mountain that leads to a wooded gulch that looks like a forest that "Hansel and Gretel" might live in. One of our guides, Billy, began telling the story of the Hawaiian "little people" or "menehune's" that live in that forest and he told us about how outgoing and friendly they were. He said they always wished the folks at Bike it Maui good tidings as they came by. To prove his point he yelled out "ALOHA!" to the menehune's in the forest and a sole voice clearly echoed back "ALOHA!". He said that all the menehune's in the valley were quite friendly and he asked us all to call out "ALOHA!".........and sure enough all the menehune's in the valley yelled back to us with a resounding "ALOHA!".
