Kauai Sea Tours, Napali Sunset Sail - Tom Barefoot's Tours |
This afternoon's sunset sail with Kauai Sea Tours was a grand slam. As we left Port Allen Harbor we were immediately greeted by a pod of Humpback Whales. Our Captain stopped the boat so we could observe the group slapping their fins and tales on the surface of the ocean. We even saw one of the Humpbacks jump almost completely out of the water. After this encounter we continued up the coast and continued to watch the sights as we sipped our Mai Tai's from the open bar that was located in the main cabin of the boat. We passed a magnificent stretch of beach that had very large waves breaking on it that the captain estimated to be over twenty feet tall. As we passed the beach and began to pass under the enormous sea cliffs of the Napali Coastline, a pod of spinner dolphins surrounded us. The spinners played all around the boat for quite some time. They took turns riding the wave off of the bow and doing their signature spinning "barrel roll" jumps. The crew set up an amazing dinner buffet that we enjoyed as we watched the sun go down over the neighboring island of Niihau. We continued to enjoy the open bar until we got back to the harbor.
