Windward Watersports is the only Professional Air Sports Association (PASA) Certified School on Oahu, their instructors are Lifeguard and CPR trained. Their shop is located in Kailua and offers lockers and showers to rinse off. They are also the only school that offers lessons by boat at a private location and the only one that uses 2-way radios to communicate with students at all time. Windward is owned by 2x World Champion Professional Kiteboarder Jeff Tobias. Jeff has finished in the Top 5 for the last 7 years in the Kiteboarders Peer Poll of the best kiteboarders in the world. | Description: From learning to progressing, from flat water to waves, Kailua is thee spot with the best all around conditions of anywhere in Hawaii. Located on Oahu's windward coast the trade winds blow year round and can range from 12-35 knots and the wind blows from the ENE, which makes for an ideal side-on-shore direction. The inside section of the bay is relativey calm, without breaking waves. Rolling swells and waves break on the outer reefs and offer great jumping and wave riding for more experienced riders. Your three hour lesson offers: Gear overview and land lesson the first hour. Kite flying skills, launching, landing, power strokes and safety are the second hour. The third hour we hit the water for body dragging and board skills.
