Snorkeling in Oahu - As is the case with all the Hawaiian Islands, snorkeling on Oahu is among the most favorite of activities. The water on Oahu is warm enough to swim in comfortably all year and there are lots of areas to see great coral formations, turtles, dolphins and reef fish. Snorkeling tours can be found all over Oahu and on a wide variety of vessels. If it works for you try to arrange one that is a half a day or longer so you can savor the total ocean experience. Snorkeling always makes me hungry and its great to have a wonderful lunch prepared and waiting along with a cold beer after a tough day of morning snorkeling. There's also something quite relaxing about just lounging about on deck of your boat soaking up the Oahu sunshine and working on a tan. I don't know if it works this way for you but when I'm visiting on the mainland dreaming about Hawaii my mind often goes directly to those glimpses imprinted in my memory of an idyllic blue sky day with sunlight shafts lazering their way through a colorful reef complete with dozens of fish swimming about. The snorkeling is great on Oahu.
