Paradise Cove Luau - For over 20 years Paradise Cove Luau has served visitors to Hawaii. It is the single largest luau in the state and can accommodate 1200 guests. As is the case with most of the luaus on Oahu, Paradise Cove is located away from Waikiki. In this case it is located in Ko Olina on the Western coast and is about a 45 minute car ride from town. They also provide transportation if you cannot provide your own. The luau is found on 12 oceanfront acres with beautiful views of the sunset on an impeccably manicured property. Before the luau begins you will have an opportunity to view and in some cases participate in some uniquely Hawaiian activities. You’ll be able to see tree-climbers ascend high up into the coconut trees while you watch from the white sand beaches below and once on top they will sprinkle you with a floral cascade of fragrant Hawaiian flowers. You will also have an opportunity to participate in some ancient Hawaiian games such as spear throwing, rolling stone disks and dart sliding. Also you will be treated to the viewing of the unearthing of the luau or traditional Hawaiian underground oven in which the pig is cooked with hot rocks. In addition you’ll be able to view the throwing of the hukilau on the beach which is the traditional manner of net fishing. There are a series of luau packages available to you varying in terms of the placement of seating to the number of drinks that are included in the package. The show however is the same for everyone and will be enjoyed by all.
