Description: Travel offshore 3 to 4 miles. Once you get to the area, the shark cage is placed in the water. The cage floats on the surface it measures 7' x 5' x 9' high and made of plexi glass. It can hold 2 people very comfortably, however up to 4 people have been in it at a time, depending on the weather and ocean conditions. Bring an underwater camera to get some of the best photographs of Hawaiian Sharks possible anywhere. The size, of the sharks, range from 5 to 15 feet. These sharks will be only inches away from the cage. You may stay up to 30 minutes in the cage to enjoy the spectacular view.*
Operates: Daily: starting at 7:00, 8:00, 9:00, 10:00 and 11:00am
Departure Point: Departs from Haleiwa Boat Harbor, directions from Waikiki: Follow the H-1 to the H-2, through Wahiawa to Haleiwa.

North Shore Shark Adventures - If you’d like to get in touch with your “primal self”, this is the tour to do it on. I don’t think anything brings out our deepest insecurities more than the thought of a 10’ long shark circling you in the deep blue ocean, and when that number is increased to perhaps twenty-five such sharks circling at the same time, your senses have definitely entered into the realm of “heightened awareness”. Never mind that there have never been any accidents to date on these tours or that these Galapagos Sharks are said not to have an affinity for a human morsel, this probably all means nothing to you as you enter the cage that drifts behind your boat. But enter the cage you do because the pull of the drama, the pull of the event itself seems to be even more powerful than your fear of these magnificent creatures. Of the many tours I’ve taken in over thirty years in this industry, this certainly ranks at the top of ones that I will remember the most. This is not a tour for everyone but if it’s a tour for you, you will know it in an instant.

As promised here is my assessment of the Kapalua Kai sunset sail cruise. It was wonderful. Although we had a misty rainy afternoon at times, the intent of the cruise was met. They tacked back and forth until the sun went down and stopped when we saw whales and dolphins. Additionally, the crew of the Kapalua Kai was very responsive to needs of their passengers, plus made us all feel safe and well taken care of. In the times when there was no mist and rain, they were asking patrons if they needed their picture taken, they distributed drinks as ordered by the patrons, and they were all quite personable.
Good cruise - plus we had an unbelievable view from the ocean of a detailed rainbow shown against the background of the West Maui Mountains and the hotels along Kaanapali beach.
It was a sad day yesterday knowing that we would wake up to another environment, but,
Again, thank you for your professionalism in helping all of us with our activity needs. If you were not there, Steve, when we wanted to make a booking, all of the other sales people at Tom Barefoot's were just as cordial and courteous as you. And as in the past, now 7 years, we will continue to use you when we come out there. July 2004 looks like the next time we will be there. Hopefully, after one our vacations, we will just stay and not come back to the mainland. That would be nice.
