Ko'Olina Ocean Adventures
Ko'Olina Marina is the big beautiful Harbor on Oahu's west side that is "ground zero" for dolphin watching on Oahu and one of the wonderful companies we have that goes out to view these feisty marine mammals is Ko'Olina Ocean Adventures. Ko'Olina Ocean Adventures, rather than use sail boats, uses the fast and stable rigid hull inflatables and swift and maneuverable power boats to catch-up with and view the dolphins. The dolphins on this coastline are generally either the Bottlenose Dolphin or, more likely, their cousins the Spinner Dolphins. The Spinner Dolphins are the more plentiful variety and also the most playful. | Description: Set sail on the beautiful Holole'akai - as you leave Ko Olina Marina and head north along the coast line; the sails go up and you soon enjoy the pods of dolphins that play along the coastline daily. Roughly 200 spinner dolphins live along the leeward coast and you can enjoy viewing them as they do their aerial jumps and swimming just beneath them. On board camera men will also capture footage of the dolphins swimming and have the media playing on four 32" flat screen panels. Continuing along your aquatic adventure, stop and snorkel at two top fish and sea turtle sites. Guests can view through the glass bottom viewing area or through an exciting introductory SNUBA offered during summer (April toOctober) or simply splash in with top of the line snorkel gear. After the first snorkel, the buffet is open for hungry guest. Whale sightings are an added bonus in the winter months (December-March), which guests can hear with the on board hydrophones.
