Oahu Kayak Tours and Guides
Oahu kayaking tours are among the most beautiful activities and adventures that the island has to offer.
Although the beaches off Waikiki and Honolulu are the most frequented by visitors, some of the most exotic water scapes can be accessed via kayak tour on Oahu's eastern and northern windward coasts.
Kayaking off the coast of Kailua which is about a half an hours drive through the "Pali" tunnel from Waikiki is particularly beautiful especially for eco tour enthusiasts.
The Mokulua Islands just lie about a mile or so off the coast of windward Oahu and the shallow water in between provides excellent coral formations and plenty of sea life within a few minutes kayak paddle.
Kayaks are generally offered as a single or double, depending upon your preference and some of the kayaking companies also have special "see through" kayaks made of transparent material which essentially makes the inside of your kayak a giant face mask. Snorkeling is always a part of the equation, and oftentimes visiting with turtles, dolphins and whales in season.

Kayaking in Oahu - I have always thought that ocean kayaking was among the most ocean intensive of all the water sports. A kayak puts you right into the action of anything that might be going on and provides the availability to view and participate with any such occurrence from your position on top of the kayak or, in a moments notice, from the water itself. The slow and stealth-like movements of the kayak over the ocean surface offer very little threat to the fish below and on a clear day visibility can be likened to floating in a fishbowl. Conditions like this are often prevalent on Oahu's eastern shores, particularly off Kailua Bay in route to the Mokulua Islands. The shallow white sand ocean bottom is usually only about 8 to 10 feet deep and beautiful coral heads are everywhere. Because the water is so shallow the ocean color is changed from a deep blue to a beautiful and inviting emerald green. These kayak tours on Oahu are among my very favorite activities and offer great snorkeling and lots of adventure.
