Kailua Sailboard and Kayaks is a company on the eastern side of the island of Oahu that offers an extensive selection of kayaking tours off the coast. Kailua Bay provides one of the most beautiful marine environments on all of Oahu to be enjoyed by Kailua Sailboard and Kayaks. The coastline here is white sand beach with some of the finest and most pure white sand to be found in Hawaii. Just off the coast is Popo'ia Island and the Moku'lua Islands just to its south. Adjacent to Kailua bay is the beautiful beach of Lanikai. The area between the beautiful beaches here and the islands is fairly protected and the ocean is generally shallow in the one-mile distance between the beach and the Moku'lua's. In these shallow crystal clear waters you will find huge coral heads of varying colors and your kayak trip over this area will easily allow you to see down to the bottom with total clarity. This is an ideal area upon which to take a kayak tour. A special treat is in the offing as well as you will paddle your kayak right up to the white sand beaches of these outer islands and land. The Moku'lua Islands, aside from being pristine and beautiful with white sand beaches and rocky, craggy inlets and cave features are also a marine bird sanctuary and you will witness many of them on your kayak visit. One of the highlights of landing on the Moku'lua Islands via kayak for me was the opportunity to do some kayak surfing on the perfect wave breaks that generally runparallel to the beach itself. Description: Perfect for first-time kayakers and families with children over 8 years old. They will teach you how to paddle with ease and efficiency and even catch a few waves on the way back. Tours are from Kailua Beach Park where you will begin and end your kayaking tour. Paddle and head towards Popo'ia Island, a protected seabird sanctuary, once landed on the soft sandy beach you can enjoy a 20-25 minute guided eco-hike, a light snack is offered before moving on. Guides will lead you to secluded islands, hidden tide pools, secret coves, turtle grounds and show you marine life and sea birds in the area.
