Oahu Horseback Riding and Tours
Oahu horseback riding may not be one of the first activities on Oahu that comes to mind when thinking about Hawaii adventures, but riding stables and horses in general are a portion of the Oahu culture that dates back to the days of the original Hawaii "paniolos" or cowboys.
You will have to drive to the more remote areas of Oahu, far from the streets of Honolulu and Waikiki, in order to search out your horseback riding adventure but when you arrive at your horseback riding stable you'll be able to enjoy a more "laid back" Oahu experience.
Some horseback riding stables will even include Waikiki or Honolulu pick-up at your hotel. First time and experienced riders alike are matched with a horse equal to their experience level and many of the horseback riding locations feature beautiful views of lush mountain valleys, luscious jungle or spectacular coastlines.

Horseback Riding in Oahu - On Oahu you've got "city" and then you have "country". Many people think that Oahu has just "city" alone. Not so. There's plenty of "country" on the island as well. Obviously Horseback riding and "country" go together, so you can expect to take a trip out of the "city" to enjoy a ride. This could mean a car trip of about an hour to an hour and a half from your hotel in Waikiki, but it is well worth it. The horseback riding on Oahu is found on large ranches that are primarily located on the North Shore. There's lots of interest in all things "equestrian" on Oahu and many folks have their own horses boarded on these ranches. There are also lots of local events that involve the general community in the "paniolo" lifestyle of the islands.
