If you really want to feel safe on your beginning surf lesson go out with the Hawaii Fire Surf School where all of your instructors are Honolulu Firefighters. These guys have been surfing all their life and bring a lot of local knowledge to their lessons. These lessons are all conducted on a secluded beach about 30 minutes from Honolulu. The "fireman" instructors don't cut any corners on safety and they do require that all children under 11 years of age take a private lesson for lots of personalized input. The kids all love it as do the adults and this has proved to be a highly successful and well respected endeavor for "Honolulu's Finest".

Premium Group Lesson 3:1 - Hawaiian Fire Surf School

Description: Premium lessons have a no more then three
students per instructor. Learn to surf at Hawaii's premier school for
surfing instruction. The instructors are all Honolulu firefighters, safety
professionals! Your private or premium lesson will be conducted on a
secluded beach located 30 minutes from Waikiki. The award winning staff
will teach you to ride some waves while catching some rays.*
Operates: Twice Daily 7:00am to11:30am and 9:30am to
2:00pm*
Departure Point: Pick up from Waikiki Hotels, surf spots
are Kalaeloa Beach at Barbers Point.
Duration: 2 Hours: 45 Minute Beach Lesson and 75 minutes of Water Time.
Equipment: Soft Long Board, Leash, Long sleeve Rash Guard and Reef Walkers.
Capacity: 3 to 1 student to teacher ratio.
Inclusions: All surfing equipment including, soft surfboards
and leashes, rash guards, and reef walkers are provided as well as transportation
to and from Waikiki hotels.

Exclusions: On-site photographer available for souvenir
photo. Bring towel, sun block, bottled water and extra clothes.
*Restrictions: Children
age 11 and younger are required to take a private lesson. Children younger
than age 6 are not advised to participate in this activity unless they
are very comfortable in the ocean. A friend or family member that wishes
to ride along can accompany students for $30.00. Departure times are
subject to change.

Hawaiian Fire Surf School - Now these guys had an idea that was hard to beat. Imagine being taught to surf by off-duty firemen who love the sport of surfing. These guys have grown up surfing and know the sport well but they’re also trained firefighters who have all the skills necessary to keep you safe. You won’t have to worry about the level of your instructors competence at this surf school, you’re surfing with some of the best. Everything is included in these lessons including round-trip transport from Waikiki, surfing at a secluded beach, foam covered surf boards, leash, reef shoes, rash guard, shade tent and chairs and of course all instruction both in and out of the water.
