Hawaiian Fire Surf School
If you really want to feel safe on your beginning surf lesson go out with the Hawaii Fire Surf School where all of your instructors are Honolulu Firefighters. These guys from the Hawaii Fire Surf School have been surfing all their life and bring a lot of local knowledge to their lessons. These lessons are all conducted on a secluded beach about 30 minutes from Honolulu. The "fireman" instructors don't cut any corners on safety and they do require that all children under eleven years of age take a private lesson for lots of personalized input.
