Hawaii Shark Encounters
Hawaii Shark Encounters is a great company to go out with to see the sharks. Although you would not typically call this a snorkeling tour, you do have an opportunity to don a snorkel mask and jump inside a metal cage which is lowered beneath the surface of the ocean so that you can see these sharks from the vantage point of beneath the surface. A fifteen minute boat ride from Haleiwa Harbor on Oahu's North Shore will get you three miles off shore to an area where you'll visit the sharks with Hawaii Shark Encounters. Take a moment to gather up you courage and jump into the steel cage and you will be having an experience that will last a lifetime. The large shark cage can accommodate up to 6 people comfortably with built in hand rails, ladder and 2" x 6" wide Plexiglas viewing windows (great for picture and video taking). See, Sandbar Sharks size up to 7 feet, Galapagos Sharks up to 12 feet, Grey Reef Sharks up to 6 feet, rare appearances by Tiger Sharks up to 14 feet, Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles very frequent and Hawaiian Spinner Dolphins usually escort the boat out of the harbor.
