Gunstock Ranch
Gunstock Ranch is a 400 acre working cattle ranch on the North Shore of Oahu. They offer horse training and boarding, livestock sales and a variety of guided horseback trail rides. Designed for all skill levels, these rides take you through lush trails of the Northern Koolau Mountains. A variety of rides are available including Oahu's only moonlight ride, offered twice a month during the full moon and a delightful "Sweetheart Ride" that will take out just the two of you. Come, spend an hour or more and witness breathtaking views while riding well-trained horses. The location of Gunstock Ranch is up on Oahu's north shore in the district of Laie very close to the Polynesian Cultural Center. Since most visitors to Oahu find themselves traveling up to the Polynesian Cultural Center at some point during their Oahu visit you might want to consider taking one of Gunstock Ranch's morning offering and going over to the Polynesian Cultural Center when it opens in the afternoon as you knock of "two birds with one stone". Unlike many of the horseback rides on the island Gunstock Ranch offers you a wide selection of rides to participate in. They offer rides designed for "keiki", in this case children ranging in age from two to seven years old. They also offer rides in the morning the afternoons and also moonlight rides once a month. Their advanced rides allow for the experienced riders to trot and canter as well as walk and they also occasionally offer a sunset BBQ ride for your to enjoy. One of their most favored rides however is their "Sweetheart Ride" in which you and your "loving other" are escorted with a wrangler on a private ride to a beautiful scenic point where you are left alone for a half-hour or so to enjoy the beauty of the moment together. This, over the years, has also become a favorite spot for many a young man to ask for his lady's hand in marriage. | Description: Enjoy a 60 minute guided ride with the opportunity for controlled trotting and cantering within the ride. Riders must have previous riding experience and need to be comfortable at a trot and canter. Wranglers will do an assessment of riding skills and will base the pace of the ride on the "least skilled ability" of the riders in the group. Wranglers are responsible for keeping the ride safe so they will make the judgement call on how fast the ride moves out. If you have not ridden more than 30 times, this ride is not for you. If guests do join this ride that do not have enough previous riding skill then it hinders the rest in the party who truly are experienced riders. Please Experienced Riders Only! Guest who ride often really enjoy this ride. This ride size typically has fewer guests due to the experience level needed. Riders must be at least 9 years old.

| Description: The Keiki Experience is a 30-minute "horse experience" that is ideal for children between the ages of 2-7 years old. Older children or even adults are welcome to purchase one of these experiences too if they want to ride a horse alongside their child. Children are allowed to pet their horse and brush them before they are put in the saddle and taken on a 25 minute walk out on the ranch. Parents are welcome to walk along side their child and take pictures along the way (at no charge). This is a fun experience to allow a young child the opportunity to ride a horse in a safe and controlled setting.

| Description: This is a 90 minute moonlit, guided ride and is a walking only ride, no trotting or cantering will be allowed. Ride leaves at dusk so you can enjoy the views on the ride out. We do our best to time the rising of the moon over the ocean as you are at a scenic lookout spot. (Nature permitting). Guests come back in under the light of the full moon. This ride goes out in the cooler portion of the day and riders experience the beautiful Hawaiian sunset skies while on horseback. Guest will be taken to the ranches highlight scenic lookout spot and enjoy the view and eat dinner around a campfire. You will be able to roast marshmallows over the campfire and enjoy the evening in a more relaxed setting.
