Captain Bob's Snorkeling
Are you ready for a great day on the water? A day that is both very fun and very different? Try Captain Bob's Snorkel Adventure. Can you remember the very last time you tried your hand at volleyball in a game that was played on a sandbar miles from shore surrounded by ocean in about a foot of water? I couldn't remember either, but I can honestly say I can definitely remember that day now after having gone out with Captain Bob's. Kaneohe Bay is the crystal water sanctuary where Captain Bob's performs his magic. The snorkeling location is as clear as I have ever seen. The crew is friendly and helpful, the acoustic guitar entertainment is as good as you will find on the high seas, the food and drink are a perfect complement to a perfect day, the vessel is roomy and comfortable, and the volleyball was unforgettable. This is a wonderful day for the whole family! Captain Bob's is also available for private charters.

Captain Bob's Snorkeling - What a delightful day. This was one of the most relaxing and enjoyable days I spent on Oahu on my last trip there. You can choose to be picked up at your hotel in Waikiki or can drive the 45 minutes or so over the mountain and through the tunnels to the East side of the island where you will find beautiful Kaneohe Bay. Capt’n Bob’s boat, “Barefoot 1” accommodates only small groups of 50 or less (there were 27 on the day I last went) so it has some degree of intimacy compared to the larger boats. The bay itself is beautiful and has a jewel-like emerald green sheen that lasts throughout the day. Part of the reason for its color is that the bay is shallow and is actually part of an ancient caldera that once filled this area. Within a matter of 15 minutes or so you arrive, not at a snorkel spot but at a lovely sand bar in about a foot or two of water miles off shore. The boat pulls up to the sand bar and everyone just walks off into the water and stands on the sand. Looking across the water to Oahu beyond you have the sense that you’re actually walking on water. One of the best parts of the day come next when they set up a volley ball net on the sand bar and invite everyone to join in for a game. Next stop is a beautiful reef for snorkeling with plenty of coral. A great lunch, choice of refreshments (alcohol or otherwise) and on-board entertainment in the form of acoustic guitar and song follows and your day is close to complete. You’ve had a great day on the water and a good time was had by all.

This message is for Steve -
As promised here is my assessment of the Kapalua Kai sunset sail cruise. It was wonderful. Although we had a misty rainy afternoon at times, the intent of the cruise was met. They tacked back and forth until the sun went down and stopped when we saw whales and dolphins. Additionally, the crew of the Kapalua Kai was very responsive to needs of their passengers, plus made us all feel safe and well taken care of. In the times when there was no mist and rain, they were asking patrons if they needed their picture taken, they distributed drinks as ordered by the patrons, and they were all quite personable.
Good cruise - plus we had an unbelievable view from the ocean of a detailed rainbow shown against the background of the West Maui Mountains and the hotels along Kaanapali beach.
It was a sad day yesterday knowing that we would wake up to another environment, but,
Again, thank you for your professionalism in helping all of us with our activity needs. If you were not there, Steve, when we wanted to make a booking, all of the other sales people at Tom Barefoot's were just as cordial and courteous as you. And as in the past, now 7 years, we will continue to use you when we come out there. July 2004 looks like the next time we will be there. Hopefully, after one our vacations, we will just stay and not come back to the mainland. That would be nice.
Mahalo,
Pat Abbott
