Maui has many unique tours and activities that are often found nowhere else in the world.
The word unique means one of a kind. In all fairness, some of the tours listed on this page would actually be considered unusual, as there are similar tours (but not many) found elsewhere. But from our perspective this category of tours is "special" because the tours found here are "different". Also, because they are so different, we don't really have a good category of activities to place some of them in unless we put them in a category of their own. Some activities shown here are found in other categories but still qualify as different enough to warrant another mention.
So please peruse the activities on the right-hand side of the page to see if anything jumps out at you and gets you excited.
Tom's Tips - Maui's Unique Activities and Tours
- One of the most mind-blowing and exciting activities I have ever gone on was with Proflyght Hawaii. I just went on this tour recently (for my second time) with my son Jake (you can see the video's of our flight in that section) and it was simply amazing. Wow!
- The Maui volcano of Haleakala just literally jumps out of the sea raising to a height of 10,000' that needs to be traversed by one of the steepest continuous roadways on earth. From the top, in the evening time, you will see more stars the you ever thought imaginable. Star Gazers Maui is absolutely worthwhile. You will see so much (I saw the rings on Saturn) and learn so much that it definitely qualifies as one of the very best tours we offer on the island.
- Maui Sporting Clays is located, of all places, in an extinct cinder cone crater on the lower slopes on the south facing slopes of Haleakala. It is the absolute perfect location for a sporting clay shooting range. It was a brilliant idea to put it there and though it is a sport that only appeals to a certain number of people, it qualifies in my book as one of Maui's activity treasures.
Alana Kay ALANA KAY has been a spirit medium and intuitive all of her life and began to use her gifts to help other people in 1994.

The messages she brings to you will be of the highest and purest sources available.

The Foundation gardens include approximately 900 separate aromatic plants in a setting with views of the central valley, the West Maui Mountains and the bays on both side of the isthmus that are considered to be the best on all the island. You can enjoy harvesting plants from the garden which will be placed into a still to be distilled into both the essential oils of the plant as well as the hydrosols or floral waters. The distillations will be conducted by Kelly Janes who has performed hundreds of distillations and is considered to be one of the master distillers on the island. This three-hour tour will familiarize you with the world of aromatherapy as well as the process used to create these amazing and healing oils and waters. You will leave with a sampling of the hydrosol you helped distill and with a knowledge of a world of health that you may have only had a basic understanding of previously.
