physio-philosophy is an ancient and gentle healing art of harmonizing the life energy within the body. Harmony and health depends upon the free and even distribution of this life energy throughout the mind, body and spirit. Jin Shin Jyutsu brings balance to this life energy thus promoting health, well-being, and the facilitation of one's own profound healing ability.
Traditional people have always known there to be no distinction between mind, body and spirit. Their healing has always focused on the promotion of spiritual, mental/emotional and physical wholeness and harmony. Traditional people recognize the single life-energy force within every individual organism. The hindus call this force prana: the Japanese know is as ki; the Chinese, chi or qi; and the Hawaiian know it as mana.
It is felt that the Art of Jin Shin Jyutsu, which was born of innate wisdom and passed down from generation to generation by word of mouth, traveled from India, through China to Japan. This Art had fallen into relative obscurity when it was dramatically revived in the early 1900's by Master Jiro Murai in Japan.
After clearing himself of a life threatening illness, Master Murai devoted the rest of his life to the research and development of Jin Shin Jyutsu, gathering insight from a range of experiences and resources, including the Kojiki (Record of Ancient Things). The resulting knowlede of Jin Shin Jyutsu was then given to Mary Burmeister, who brought it to the United States in the 1950's.
Sandy's personal testimony with Jin Shin Jyutsu: Generally it takes me a great deal of time before I try something new. I heard about the art of Jin Shin Jyutsu in 1988. It took three years before I went for a session. With my nursing background I could not comprehend what was not visible. This had not been a part of my training. After three sessions my neck and shoulders were without tension as the energy cleared, I have now been receiving (and studying) Jin Shin Jyutsu for the past 14 years, with deepening understanding.

Description: Employs twenty-six "safety energy locks" along energy pathways that feed life into our body. When one or more of these paths become blocked, the resulting stagnation can disrupt the local area and eventually disharmonize the complete path of energy flow. Holding these energy locks in combination can bring balance to mind, body and spirit. A session generally lasts about an hour. It does not involve massage, manipulation of muscles, or use of drugs or substances. It is a gentle art, practiced by placing the fingertips (over clothing) on designated safety energy locks, to harmonize and restore the energy flow. This facilitates the reduction of tension and stress which accumulate through normal daily living. Jin Shin Jyutsu helps to bring balance and harmony to the body while promoting relaxation and facilitating one's own healing capacity.*
