Royal Hawaiian Surf Academy offers surfing lessons out of Lahaina, Maui. Royal Hawaiian Surf Academy is owned by Kimo, who is a descendent of the famous surfer Duke Kahanamoku. Lessons are offered on either a group or private basis at the “Breakwall” that is directly across from their surf store that is located on Prison St. This surf school was popularized by the reality television show “Livin Lahaina” which featured Kimo as well as his group of surf instructors. Royal Hawaiian Surf Academy equips their students for success by giving them all the surf gear they need. They will provide use of a “Soft Top” longboard that is designed specifically for beginners as well as protective reef shoes and an ultraviolet light blocking rash guard.
