Proflyght Hawaii
If you are someone that likes to do X-treme sports and you’re coming to Maui it is imperative that you know about Proflyte Hawaii. Proflyte Hawaii is a company that offers paragliding trips off of the slopes of Haleakala. Paragliding is a similar concept to hang gliding but instead of using a wing with a metal frame under it the paragliding rig more closely resembles a parachute. All of the flights are flown in tandem so there is never a time when you will need to steer or control the apparatus in any way. The only thing you will be required to do is: run to take off and bend your knees when you land, aside from that you’ll be free to just sit back and enjoy the ride.
| Description: Surf the Sky, Paraglide Haleakala and fly like a bird, peaceful and free, over Maui! Tandem instructors offer you the experience of soaring over the slopes of Haleakala. No prior experience necessary! After a brief course on the basics you will gear up and then take a few strides and fly away with your instructor. When you are ready you can take the controls and learn to maneuver about the sky. Paragliders are the slowest flying aircraft in the world, allowing lift off with ease. Pilots try to stay in the air as long as possible on every flight. Departure Point: From Kahului airport area, take Hwy 37 for 13.5 miles, turn left at Kula Rice Park just past mile marker 13, take your first right onto Waipoli Road for 2 miles up to the landing zone.
