Piiholo Ranch
The Baldwin family was one of the original European settlers of the island of Maui descending from missionaries. The Baldwin family is one of the largest landowners on Maui owning the Alexander and Baldwin cane fields, the Haleakala Ranch, Pi’iholo Ranch and more. Pi’iholo Ranch is one of their most beautiful parcels sitting right on the edge of the rainforest with spectacular panoramic bicoastal views throughout. The Baldwin family has been known for their horsemanship for generations, and still brings their horses to major mainland competitions to this day. Going riding on Pi’holo Ranch is something special with a wide variety of native plants and trees indigenous to Hawaii all over the ranch including Koa, Ohia Lehua trees and occasionally endemic forest birds will be spotted as well. There are rides that are suitable for beginner through advanced riders and there is even the option to go on your own private horseback ride. The horseback rides can go from very short one hour rides to longer two or three hour rides. The horses of Pi’iholo Ranch are as beautiful as the scenery and many of them have been in major shows and competitions. Horseback riding is not the only thing that goes on at Pi’iholo Ranch there is also an elaborate zip line and ropes challenge course here. The longer lines stretch over two thousand feet and span across entire valleys. A two hour Private ride is available. Refreshments and snacks are included on the 2 hour ride. An optional lunch is available for $20 per person served on a picnic table under a small pavillion. Can be scheduled to suit you, even at sunset.
