Maui Stables
Maui Stables is the only horseback ride we have in the beautiful Kipahulu District of Maui. This area is well known for its lovely views of the Hana coastline and its gorgeous green valleys. There will be a strong emphasis on Hawaiian history and Hawaiian culture throughout this tour. Please be aware that the Maui Stables is about a three-hour drive from the West and South side hotels and condos. If you're not staying in Hana it will be important to plan your day out well in order to work this spectacular horseback ride into your schedule.…
| Description: This tour is the ultimate Hawaiian experience, appreciate the area, people and history on the east side of Maui in a truly unique and beautiful way. Take a horseback ride into pristine upper valleys and over rugged mountain terrain on land of ancient Hawaii. Listen to stories of the history of the area. All tours are accompanied by the "Alaka'i" or trained tour leader, and a "Kako'o", apprentice, who begin each tour with traditional "ule" prayer and "oli" or call to our "aumakua", ancestors. All of the important events were recorded orally through chants. These chants will be used extensively through out the tour and each guest will be given the basic intent. The small group size of Maui Horseback Tours (10 riders per group) allow for this oral tradition to continue as the history of ancestors are shared.
Departure Point: Maui Stables located in Kipahulu on Hana Hwy between Mile Marker 40 and 41- Do not go through Kula - Hwy 37 is Closed.
