Maui Downhill Bike Tours is the oldest of all the downhill bike tours going down Maui's Haleakala volcano. Rich Goodenough has been the leader in this industry since 1984. Maui Downhill has provided more tours down the mountain then any other company. They have logged about 12 million miles on their custom-built bikes.

MAUI DOWNHILL - the premier downhill coasting experience. Tours include round trip transportation from your hotel or condo. Provided at the base office is a continental breakfast of pastries, hot beverages also you will be fitted with windbreakers and bicycle helmets for comfort and safety. Bike tour staging area is at the 6,500' level outside of the National Park. Tour Guides will go over a comprehensive safety briefing, including Hawaii's bicycle safety regulations and tour guidelines with you. The Downhill bike safari gently descends the western slopes of Haleakala volcano with two safety stops in the switchbacks for rider evaluation, rest and photo opportunities. Enjoy spectacular views while coasting down the newly paved state highway. This roadway has wide paved "pull out" areas for photo stops and traffic passes. Two Haleakala safari guides will point out Maui highlights and unique features of the mountain. Enjoy the comfort of custom made bicycles while coasting through the green switchbacks of the western slopes filled with bi-coastal views of the Central Valley.

WEAR WARM CLOTHING IN LAYERS. Closed toe rubber soled shoes and sunglasses are required. Prices do not include taxes, park entrance fee, etc. EQUIPMENT: CUSTOM BUILT SINGLE SPEED CRUISER BICYCLES WITH MOUNTAIN DRUM BRAKES CAPACITY: 13 PASSENGERS per van. PLEASE NO beginners or pregnant women. Must be at least 12 years and up and there is a height requirement of 5 feet minimum. 48 hour cancellation policy.

THE HALEAKALA SUPER SUNRISE SAFARI - Includes pick and return to your condo/hotel, a Continental Breakfast of Pastries and Hot Beverages will be served at the Base Yard in Kahului.
Depart from the baseyard with Polynesian Adventure Tours who will provide an informative tour of Haleakala National Park filled with fascinating Polynesian history and Haleakala legends narrated by experienced tour guides. From the crater rim enjoy a stunning view of Haleakala's cinder cones and volcanic features 2000' below and tour the House of the Sun Visitor Center. Leaving the National Park, the Polynesian Adventure Tour Guide will meet Maui Downhill at the 6500' elevation level where you will begin your Bike Safari. The Bike Safari gently descends down the exciting 21 switchbacks on the western slopes of Haleakala, the world's largest resting volcano. Riders enjoy full bi-coastal panoramas of Maui's Central Valley and West Maui Mountains with photo stops to capture Maui's beautiful landscape and the open range of Haleakala Ranch. NO HOST LUNCH STOP at Sunrise Market and Flower Farm. Bike through eucalyptus forests and the upcountry community of Kula with its beautiful lavender farms and jacaranda tree lined roadways. Your luxury downhill bicycle/van tour combo concludes with a Safari van tour from Pukalani to the sea with information and history of Maui's Sugar Cane Pineapple plantation days. Tour time is 8 to 9 hours from hotel pick up to return.
